Grief isn't something to get over. It's something to move through — with support.
Grief doesn't follow a rulebook. There's no timeline, no right way to feel, and no point at which you're supposed to be "over it."
Grief counseling at JEM is for:
- Loss of a loved one — recent or long-carried
- End of a significant relationship or marriage
- Grief after a miscarriage or pregnancy loss
- Loss of a job, identity, or vision of the future
- Supporting a child or teen through loss
- Anticipatory grief while caring for someone who is dying
What grief therapy looks like
The goal isn't to stop grieving — it's to carry it differently. To find a way forward that honors what you've lost without being swallowed by it.
In sessions, we'll make space for whatever form your grief takes — without pushing you toward any particular feeling or outcome. Sometimes grief just needs to be witnessed. Sometimes there's more underneath it that needs tending.
I work with adults, teens, and children navigating loss. For children, play therapy provides a natural and age-appropriate way to process grief.
